What happens
Step by step
- 1The tooth is numbed, isolated and the canal thoroughly disinfected over one or more visits.
- 2Rather than filling the canal, the tooth is encouraged to bring new tissue and blood supply into the root.
- 3The tooth is sealed and then followed up over months with X-rays to check the root is continuing to develop.

Numb throughout. Follow-up visits are short and involve only an X-ray and a look.
