Step by step
- 1The tight band, the frenulum, is assessed for how much it actually restricts movement, because not every visible tie needs treating.
- 2If it does, the area is numbed and the band is released in a short procedure.
- 3For babies, this is often over in moments. Older children are given simple stretches to do afterwards so it heals without re-tightening.
What your child will feel
Brief, numbed for older children, and typically very quick for infants. Some soreness for a day or two afterwards.
