What happens
Step by step
- 1We show your child the mirror and the 'sleepy juice' (local anaesthetic gel) before anything else happens.
- 2The tooth is gently numbed, your child may feel a small pinch, then nothing at that spot.
- 3Decay is cleaned out with a slow, low-vibration handpiece, narrated the whole time.
- 4The tooth is rebuilt in tooth-coloured material and checked against the bite.
What your child will feel
A cold-water rinse, some vibration and pressure, and, after the numbing takes hold, no sharp sensation.
